Tasty Tuesday: Classic Wedge Salad With Prosciutto and Avocado

Hello again all! I have a simple salad recipe post for you all today. I made this for my hubby, parents, and in-law's while we were in Houston over the weekend. I wanted to do something fun to accompany my dad's homemade pizza, and these wedge salads were a huge hit! Not only that, but they look so gorgeous and colorful when plated, that they are sure to be a crowd pleaser at any event. I hope you enjoy this simple classic recipe! 


  Classic Wedge Salad With Prosciutto and Avocado



  •  1 head of Iceberg lettuce, quartered
  • 1/4 pound of thinly sliced prosciutto
  • crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 handfuls of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 lime 
  •  Marie's Blue Cheese Vinaigrette dressing (HERE


Heat a large pan over meduim heat. Add a drop of olive oil to the pan. Once the oil is warm, add the prosciutto to the pan. Cook on each side for about three minutes, or until crisp. Remove from the heat and set on a paper towel covered plate to drain and cool. Heat a smaller pan over meduim heat. Add your nuts and stir constantly until browned (about five minutes). Once toasted, remove your nuts from the heat and set aside to cool. Quarter your head of lettuce and remove any of the core from the center. Chop your avocados into slices and douse with lime juice to prevent browning. Half your cherry tomatoes and crumble your cooked prosciutto and cheese. Assemble your salad by first plating your quartered lettuce, topping it with your crumbled cheese, prosciutto, tomatoes, toasted nuts, and slices of avocado. Lightly dress your salad, serve, and enjoy!
