Spring Jackets

Hello again all! I hope everyone is having a fabulous Wednesday! Today I have a classy yet casual outfit I want to share with you all, highlighting my new Katydid Collection tank. I have a few of their tanks now and they are some of the softest basics I have ever owned! I also love the cute messages, like this one says "all you need is love, and awesome shoes" words to live by in my opinion! I love pairing more casual prices with things that dress them up, like a cream tweed jacket and pearl earrings. I have an excess of jewelry and light jackets in my wardrobe. Throwing them overtop of any outfit is just a fun, simple way to take your weekend wear to the next level. I hope you enjoy this post!

27 Looks Bright

Hello again! I'm so excited today because it is my 27th birthday!!! I love having my birthday on a Friday because it gives everyone the opportunity and excuse to celebrate! I have a fun, bright outfit for you all today that I will be wearing out to dinner this evening. I spotted this gorgous Banana Republic dress while casually online shopping one day. My mom and I set out to find it in store to try it on, and I fell in love! She graciously bought it for me and I'm so excited to sport it tonight. After all of my workout classes this month, I'm feeling super confident, even in such a form fitting number! I paired it with this lovely neon orange Kate Spade necklace that my mother in law found for me! We spotted it months ago while shopping together and she was able to snag it for a STEEL at the Kate Spade outlet! If you like it, definitely look for it there but I also found it available for rent on Bag Borrow or Steel, so that's what I linked below. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and have a cocktail for me!!!

Paris Vibes

Hello again everyone! I hope you all are having a fabulous week so far. I am pretty excited for tonight because I will be attending the grand opening of the Kendra Scott store in the Plaza at Preston Center here in Dallas and Kendra herself will be there! I love supporting local artists and this Texas jewelry designer has taken her craft above and beyond! I cannot wait to see her new collection and pick her creative brain!

I have a simple let classic outfit for you all today. My mom and I have been talking nonstop about Paris and the elegance and timelessness of their fashion. This skirt that she bought for me seemed like the perfect addition to a Parisian inspired wardrobe. I paired it with a classic black pump and a simple tee that just so happens to have Paris printed on it! I am adoring midi length A-line skirts as of late and I am sure you will see more of them in the near future. They are just so elegant and versatile, you really cannot go wrong! You can dress them up with a structured top and heels, or down with a tee and flats, or even somewhere in between as I have done today. I hope you enjoy this Parisian inspired look and it motivates you to add some classic items to your wardrobe!

Tasty Tuesday: Crockpot Pork Chops With Creamy Herb Sauce

Hello again all! I have a simple slow cooker recipe for you all today that is perfect for a busy lifestyle. I found this easy recipe via Pinterest from Jennifer at Crockpot Gormet. I was so excited to try something new in the crockpot that did not end up being some kind of shredded meat begging to be served over rice. I tweaked some of the ingredients to make it a little more waistline friendly, but I promise it did not loose any taste! I would say my biggest mistake, however, was using thin pork chops. I think a thicker cut chop would have kept the meat a little more juicy and tender. I hope you learn from my mistake and try out this recipe for yourself!

Crockpot Pork Chops with Creamy Herb Sauce

  •  2 pounds of pork loin chops
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil or grape seed oil
  • 1/2 of a small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of mustard powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cracked pepper
  • 1-1/2 cups of chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup of milk (I used 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon of corn starch
  • 1/2 cup of coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped basil
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley

Season both sides of each pork chop with salt, pepper, mustard powder, and thyme and lightly dredge in your coconut flour, just to get a coating. In a large, heavy bottom skillet or pot (I used my trusty Le Creuset Dutch Oven) add your oil. Once your oil has warmed, saute your onions and garlic in the pan until they are slightly browned. Move your onions and garlic to the side of your pan, add a bit more oil if necessary, and brown each side of your pork chops (about 1-2 minutes on each side).  Once browned, transfer all your pan contents to your slow cooker. Add your chicken broth to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8. Once cooked, remove your pork chops from the slow cooker and cover to keep warm. Add the remaining cooking liquid to a small sauce pan. Add your milk to the sauce pan and whisk over low heat. If your sauce needs thickening, add the cornstarch and whisk thoroughly. Slowly bring your sauce to a boil over meduim heat for about 2-3 minutes until your desired consistency is achieved (mine was gravy-like).  Add additional salt and pepper to taste. Pour the sauce over your pork chops and garnish with chopped basil and parsley. Serve and enjoy!

Hello again lovelies and happy Monday! I have a simple yet elegant outfit for you all today. As you may already know, this year's "new neutral" is without a doubt the blush/pale pink color represented on my top. I have to say that I am so in love with this trend and I hope it lasts for a long time! I was lucky enough to snag this top during one of Gap's 40% off sales and I am so glad I did! I love sporting new trends, but until I know the trend is here to stay, I don't want to invest too much money into it. I love looking for classic yet trending items at Gap because I think you get a tremendous amount of quality for a small price tag. I love pairing this top with a light wash, destressed denim, and then dressing it up with classic pumps. I hope you enjoy this elegant outfit and it inspires you to hop on the blush bandwagon this spring!
