Beauty Thursday: Agave Oil

Hello again beauties! Today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite new haircare brands, Agave Oil. The company was sweet enough to send me a few of their products and I have been using them for about a month now. The three products are the Agave Smoothing Shampoo, the Agave Smoothing Conditioner, and, my favorite, the Agave Healing Oil Treatment. I have to say I have seen a huge difference in the quality and texture of my hair. Not only is it much smoother and virtually frizz free, but I am noticing my split ends are also much less apparent. The products are sulfate and paraben free and contain agave plant sugars to help hydrate and maintain hair's natural shine. I love using natural products, so I am very happy to talk about this particular brand.

First I want to talk about the Agave Smoothing Shampoo since it is the natural first step in any haircare routine. It is a light, creamy formula that lathers nicely considering the lack of sulfate and gently cleans my hair. I have not noticed anything mind blowingly different about this shampoo compared to other ones that I generally like, but I also know that it is hard to find a natural shampoo this compares on par with chemical based ones. It does do a great job of keeping my frizz at bay, and it smells FANTASTIC like some kind of tropical island. It may be the best smelling shampoo I ever used. I don't feel as though any residue is left, which is great because I only was my hair about twice a week and I need a shampoo that can get rid of the oil build up at my scalp as well as all the dry shampoo and hairspray that I use to style my locks. Overall I have to say that it is a solid product.

The next step in my haircare routine would be conditioning my hair, and I love the
Agave Smoothing Conditioner. It also does a fantastic job eliminating frizz without weighing my hair down. I normally use volumizing shampoos and conditioners because my long hair can be quite heavy, so I was concerned to switch to a product not geared for that. I was pleasantly surprised by the voluminous results after my first use. The smell is, once again, intoxicating which alone can make me switch permanently. I truly love this natural conditioner.

The final step is the Agave Healing Oil Treatment which is the product I have seen the most drastic results with. It is a non-greasy liquid oil formula that you apply to damp hair about half way through the drying process. It is loaded with not only the agave sugars, but other natural botanicals like coconut, vanilla, sunflower, and safflower to nourish and transform hair’s outer layer. The botanicals are mixed with madagascar baobab seed oil to create a much lighter formula then typical nut oils. It has the same amazing tropical smell as the other products and works tremendously to combat frizz and tame my unruly hair. Like I mentioned earlier, I have seen a huge overall difference with this product particularly with the texture and shine of my hair. It works much better then any other shine serum or hair oil I have tried. Others can tend to look greasy and make the ends of my hair somewhat stringy. This product does an amazing job smoothing my locks and adding shine without all those negative effects. This will continue to be a staple in my haircare routine for years to come.
