Beauty Thursday: Sephora VIB Rouge Spring Social Event Haul

Hello again! So over the weekend Sephora held an event in which all VIB Rouge beauty club members had early access to the shop where we enjoyed breakfasts, beverages, and 15% off our purchase. Since the Hubs was out of town, I decided to head over to Northpark Mall here in Dallas and take advantage of this great opportunity. I am so glad I did because I met Jessica, who was the sweetest and most helpful employee I have ever run into. She sat me down and recommended tons of new products that would work well for my skin, as well as tried them on. It was so fun to feel pampered and do a little shopping as well. I had originally had in mind just purchasing a few everyday things I had run out of, but Jessica gave me new options that would work well in the heat of the summer. I decided to give you all a little haul of what she recommended to me and why, and what I thought of them so far.

I first ran into Jessica at the Make Up Forever counter while browsing their new Make Up Forever HD Cream Blushes. She explained that the formula had a cream-to-powder consistency and recommended shade 122 for a natural look on my skin tone. So far, I have been loving this blush. The color is perfect for a natural, spring flush and goes well with any lip color I choose. It seems to wear well throughout the day and is very easy to apply and blend throughout my skin. I just use a synthetic brush to lightly stipple it over my foundation on the apples of my cheeks. It dries quickly, and will not remove any foundation or concealer as you apply. It is formulated to have a weightless feel and completely natural look that can be warn alone, or with powder blush over top.

I was planning on picking up another foundation, so Jessica guided me toward another Make Up Forever product, their Make Up Forever Matte Velvet+ Foundation.  She explained that it is a long lasting, oil controlling, full coverage foundation that is waterproof and sweat proof. It sounded too perfect for the Texas summer time to pass up. I was in the shade 35 Vanilla and I love the way it applies. It is quite similar to my Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation  as well as my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation in its coverage, oil control, and lasting power. I am curious to see how well it holds up in the heat, so I will keep you posted.

The third and final product that Jessica found for me was the Make Up Forever Duo Matte Powder Foundation. She recommended it for setting the liquid foundation for a touch up free day. I loved the silky and weightless feel it had on my skin, and its lasting power is very strong so far. It adds a tiny but more coverage, which I love, but does not give me a cakey look at all. I am in shade 201.

I had such a blast at the event. Everyone at Sephora Northpark was so sweet and helpful and I am looking forward to them holding this again int he near future!
