Baby, Don't Save Me

Today I wanted to share with you a fun little outfit highlighting a concert T shirt. The Hubs and I love live music and its always nice to pick up a memento while you are there. Last Thursday we went to see the band Haim with our friends Matt and Jill and we had a blast! I have to say they are my favorite band of the moment, so I really wanted a souvenir, especially when I spotted this shirt. It is a fun profile of the lead singer and oldest sister Este, who happens to always wear red lipstick. I thought the rest of the outfit complemented the vibe well. I hope you enjoy this fun music inspired look!

I obviously had to imitate Este on the shirt ;)

Tasty Tuesday: Easter Dinner, Dijon And Herb Crusted Rack Of Lamb

Hello again! I have another recipe for you today. My sweet friend Rachel and I made this for our Easter dinner while she and her boyfriend Fran visited. It is based off of a recipe for herb crusted rack of lamb I found from through pinterest. Rachel and Fran were so unbelievably generous to gave me a roasting pan for my birthday so that we could use it for this lamb when they visited. I was beyond excited because I happened to try out this recipe years ago for the Hubs and it did not exactly turn out right because I was baking it on a cookie sheet. Also, I did not have the butcher trim enough of the fat off, so it was a bit chewy. Make sure to inform your butcher you want it trimmed well, but to leave enough fat for flavor. Rachel and I loved the simplicity of the recipe and were excited to incorporate such fresh herbs into the dish. I think the crust turned out amazing and the meat was packed with flavor. It is also a pretty healthy dish because no additional fat is added to your meat besides a slight bit of olive oil. Although lamb may not be something you eat everyday, it is sentimental to me and reminds me of my maternal grandmother who always made me lamb chops growing up. I will definitely be making this again for a special occasion. I hope you enjoy this decadent recipe!

Dijon And Herb Crusted Rack Of Lamb

  •  2 pounds (1-1/2 rack) of French-cut racks of lamb
  • 1/4 cup of Italian style breadcrumbs
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh minced flat leaf parsley
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh minced mint
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of fresh ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Rub your lamb with the salt and pepper, making sure to coat evenly. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add the olive oil. Sear all sides of the lamb until it has slightly browned, about 2 minutes on each side. Repeat with the half rack of the lamb. Remove from the pan and set aside. Combine the garlic, herbs, and breadcrumbs into a small bowl. Brush the lamb racks with the Dijon mustard and encrust them with the herb mixture. Place the lamb on a rack inside a roasting pan standing up with the bones interlacing. Place the roasting pan in the oven and cook for about 18 minutes, or until the thickest part of the rack reads 130 degrees on a meat thermometer. Remove from the oven and let the meat stand for an additional 10 minutes to complete the cooking process. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Black And White Date Night

Hello again lovelies! I have a bit of a dressed up look for you today. I wanted to show you a fun, date night outfit that was a bit unexpected. I think a pencil skirt is flattering on almost any shape, accentuating your curves and helping you appear long and lean. I usually think of wearing them to the office, however paired with a fun crop top, they can be the perfect date night ensemble.  I got this top a little while ago for a steel at $30 (I believe it was originally $100) and I think it is such an interesting piece. It is not a true eyelet, more of a laser cut pattern which is very much in style at the moment. Also, the black contrasting details only make it more unique and perfect to pair with this black pencil skirt. I have also been loving this fun bracelet that my friends Blake and Lindsey gave me for my birthday. It is the first Baublebar piece I have owned and I am pretty excited about it. I have also been testing out some new styling products on my hair that I will be reviewing later this week, so keep your eyes peeled! I hope you enjoy this date night look and it inspires you to step out of the box with your next date night outfit!

Best Friends In Dallas: Cooking In Style

Hello again lovlies! My sweet friend Sarah gave me this beautiful red apron for my birthday and I wore it while cooking on Easter Sunday. I also had another white and blue one that the Hubs got me for Christmas the year we got engaged, so Rachel decided to wear that one. I think we looked so cute together, so I wanted to share the pictures with you all. Anthropologie has the most adorable pieces for your home, but especially your kitchen. They all have a vintage vibe that makes it fun to be domestic. I hope you like our housewife attire!

The best chefs cook barefoot....right?

Best Friends In Dallas: The Sixth Floor Museam JFK Memorial

Hello again! I wanted to share with you all today some pictures of our weekend exploring Dallas. One of our first stops was The Sixth Floor Museum At Dealy Plaza. This is where JFK was shot and the whole sixth and seventh floor of the book depository is dedicated to the life and death of John F. Kennedy. We were not allowed to take any photos in the museum itself on the sixth floor, however the seventh had some art pieces and views of the underpass and the grassy knoll, so I included those for you all to see. It was so much fun seeing Rachel and getting a chance to meet her boyfriend Fran. I miss her already but I am hopeful I will see her again very soon. Love ya Rach!

The Old Red Museum, another Dallas landmark.

The Texas Book Depository, the open window is where Lee Harvey Oswald fired the tragic shot.

The pictures above were created with these tiny portraits. JFK was made up of pictures of Jacqueline and vice versa.

The X's mark where the limo was shot.
