Red Lips And Coffee

Hello again! I wanted to welcome you into my home a bit with these next posts. Sometimes a girl just needs an afternoon pick me up and a latte did just the trick. I was feeling fancy that day and decided to dress up a bit. I love mixing different neutral colors and then using fun lipstick shades and accessories as the pop of an unexpected color. The red against the taupe in this faux leather skirt seemed to work so well. I also loved how well this outfit matched my home decor. This couch was a Craig's list find that had the perfect shape and was only $100! I loved the french style and the fabric tufts so much. We are planning on eventually re-finishing the wood in a white wash and having it re-upholstered in a charcoal gray linen fabric. I think it will then tie into our home so well, but for now the current fabric, although not appealing, has held up through the years and will have to do. Have any of you ever turned a used furniture piece into something new? Let me know!

Layered Dresses

Hello again everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. The weather was beautiful here and I spent plenty of time enjoying the sunshine and spring breezes. I know that as the temperature rises, I am going to have to stop wearing these boots that we all know I am obsessed with, so I have been trying to wear them as much as possible while I can still get away with it. Also, this long sleeved dress will have to go away pretty soon too, but it was perfect for this past weekend. I know I am going to get a ton of use out of this Parisian slip this spring, layering it under different dresses to put a spin on a look. I love this sparkled belt as well. It adds the perfect touch of elegance to any outfit I wear it with. I hope you agree, and enjoy this layered look!

All My Faves

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is finally here! The Hubs and I got a bunch of spring cleaning done yesterday and I think it is great for us to start off the weekend in such a positive way. De-cluttering your closet or even your house can make you feel so good, almost like you have a fresh start. Giving bags of used clothes to those who will need and appreciate them more then we ever could is just the sweet sweet icing on top of the cake.

I have for you today an easy outfit that I absolutely love. These are some of my all time favorite pieces because I know when I put them on, I feel good about the way I look. With that in mind, I figured I would feel really fabulous if I through them all on together! This top is super flattering on my shape, especially belted, and this hat gives everything an edgy vibe, which I adore. I hope you enjoy this look of favorites!

Office With An Edge

Hello again lovelies! We are so close to the weekend I can almost taste it! I am excited to relax, wind down, and finally enjoy the outdoors. The last couple of weekends have been cold, windy, and pretty dreary so I am hoping for nice springtime weather this weekend.

I wanted to share with you a dressed up outfit that would work in a casual office. You could also easily change up the black jeans for black pants if you work in a more strict dress code environment. I adore the leather detailing in this blazer. I think it gives this piece an unexpected edge that I love my clothing to have. I have also been wearing this shirt nonstop since my mom gave it to me. I actually tried it on in white at first but could not bring myself to buy it. For some reason it reminded me so much of my Catholic School uniform from growing up that it was extremely off putting. Changing the color from white to blue somehow did the trick and now I am obsessed. It is the perfect basic top for any outfit. Also, I cannot get enough of this Shoplately necklace. It adds just the right amount of sparkle and girlishness. I hope you enjoy this classic look!

Casual Neutrals

Hello again everyone! Today I have another pretty casual outfit, but honestly that is what I enjoy wearing hanging around the house on the weekend. The basic neutral tones of this outfit all work in harmony to give off a more muted tone. It helps the turquoise in my jewelry be the main color pop, which I love. This long cardigan is so comfy, and the belt is the perfect touch to cinch my waist.  The heels give the ensemble a dressier vibe, but are easily removable for couch cuddling and other common weekend activities. I hope you enjoy this relaxed neutral look!

Classic Rainy Day

Hello again! Today I have for you a cute little rainy day outfit I wore on Saturday. Although it never actually rained when we were out, the skies were quite gloomy all afternoon. Luckily, the Hubs and I were still able to sneak a little walk in to enjoy the outdoors. After we got back, we went to this park to soak up the beautiful scenery. The lily pads on the calm lake took my breath away. I love finding such quaint pockets of nature within the city.

I thought this outfit worked perfectly with the unpredictable weather. My loving parents gave me both these bright red boots and this Peter Pilotto for Target dress. I think it is the perfect flowey floral number for spring. Nothing says classic quite like a trench coat, and I think this one gave my outfit the final touch. I hope this outfit inspires you to dress up a little, even when its dreary outside.
