Tasty Thursday: Sauteed Cabbage and Kale with Garlic and Shallot



Hello again! Today I have for you a super simple sauteed veggie recipe that I really think you will enjoy. My friend Lindsey told me a while ago that she had been sauteing green cabbage for breakfast with her eggs and that she had fell in love with it. I wasn't sold, until her mother in law Susan made some for us with kale and garlic at their lake house. I thought it was incredible! I decided to try it on my own and even Travis liked it. It is tasty not only as a side dish, but on tacos or a sandwich it is a fab addition. I am planning on putting it on some sausages tonight as a garlic krout rather then sour krout. I hope you enjoy this dish!


Sauteed Green Cabbage and Kale with Garlic and Shallot

 

 Ingredients:

  • 1/2 head of green cabbage, sliced thinly
  • 6 leaves of dinosaur kale, sliced thinly
  • 1 large shallot, sliced thinly
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

 

 Directions:

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add your oil. After the oil has heated for a few seconds, add all your veggies. Saute until slightly golden brown. Serve and enjoy!
