Pops Of Red

Happy Friday! I am so excited for this weekend to begin! I wanted to share with you another fun outfit post. I am kind of obsessed with this skirt right now. It was a lovely gift from my sweet mother-in-law and it just makes me feel like a princess. I also must talk about these shoes. I have had them for a few years now and they are just the kind of statement piece I like to wear every so often. I have a fun little story about how we first met. It was my freshman year at college and one of my required classes was University 101. For the architecture students, the class went a bit differently then for others. In this class, we basically met our professors in different areas of Philly and learned about the historical architecture that was in our great city. On this particular day, our last stop was the Wanamaker Building, one of the first department stores in America. It happened to still be a running department store, a Macy's in fact. In this Macy's there is both a famous eagle sculpture as well as the country's largest organ, and both were located in the shoe section. Thats when I saw them. The whole class was looking at the sculpture and instrument, and I was staring at the most amazing red suede pumps I had ever seen. These shoes just caught my eye and I could not look away. Needless to say, I quickly purchased them as soon as the class was dismissed, and I have been loving them ever since. It's fun to have connections to  certain pieces in your wardrobe whether it's a meaningful gift or a fun story. Let me know if you have any pieces like that in your closet!
