Spring 2013 Trends Day 1: 60's Silhouettes

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was fantastic, I know mine sure was. We spent the weekend at our lovely friend Sally's bridal shower. It was at her family's ranch right outside of Houston, which is just amazing. Her mother Marcy was actually one of the generous women who helped throw Travis and I's couples shower, which was also at the ranch but in the barn area. Both were so beautiful, they could have been weddings themselves. Sally fiance, Grant, was also in attendance, so all our men went to keep him company, and play a little golf. We had just the best time with the lovebirds and cannot wait to celebrate their special day with them.

Also over the weekend I had a bit of time to do a little bit of research on this year's spring fashion trends. If you are anything like me, you are ready to put your winter jackets away and get ready for this lovely season full of florals, flowey fabrics, and pastels. Over the next seven days, I will be focusing on seven trends of this trend per day. It will be the fashion week of this blog! Ok so for the first day I am going to focus on one of my favorites of the trends, 60's silhouettes. The mod color blocking, dropped waists, short dresses, and bold patterns are coming back in full force. Some of these looks from the runway include:

Louis Vuitton

Carolina Herrera

Michael Kors

Inspired by these looks, I chose some lower priced items from my favorite retail stores that offer the same style of look for a less expensive, everyday spring look. These include:

Urban Outfitters

J Crew

Banana Republic
