Happy Friday everyone! I don't know about you, but I feel like this week has been neverending, so I am ecstatic that the weekend is just about here. This entire week I have been focusing on getting back into the habit of eating right, which is proving to be extremely difficult because eating fruits and veggies is very different then the Christmas cookies, gummy bears, and large meals my body became accustom to over this holiday season. One thing that has been an easy adjustment has been my breakfast smoothie. Over the weekend, I went to Whole Foods (one of my favorite places in the world, I cannot explain it but I love grocery shopping almost as much as regular shopping) and they were passing out samples of this delicious smoothie, so naturally I had to try it. I was amazed with how delicious it was, considering it had a powdered supplement in it, which I usually find grainy and unappetizing. The supplement is called Amazing Meal, which is a 100% whole food nutrition mix made up of organic green super-foods, plant based protein, fruits, and veggies. I think the fact that it is made of vegetables and fruits instead of whey protein helps to eliminate the graininess and overpowering taste. They have a few different flavors, but this particular recipe calls for the chocolate flavor. I have been able to stick to the routine of making this for breakfast each morning and I really am loving it! I tweaked the Whole Foods recipe just a bit to make it a little more creamy. Blueberry,Banana, And Chocolate Breakfast Smoothie
- ½ of a banana
- ¾ cup of vanilla almond milk
- 1 cup of frozen blueberries
- 2 teaspoons of honey
- 1 scoop (its in the container) of Chocolate Amazing Meal
- 4 large ice cubes
Place the banana, blueberries, almond milk, honey, and Chocolate Amazing Meal into a blender and blend thoroughly. Once mixed completely, add the ice cubes and blend again. Serve and enjoy!
