Boots and Layered Dresses

Hello again! I just wanted to start off by saying happy New Years Eve! I want to thank you all, my lovely readers and followers, for helping make this year so great for me. Your sweet comments make my day and I cannot wait to see what becomes of my blog in 2014!!

I have for you today another outfit post featuring one of my Christmas gifts from my loving parents, these awesome over the knee boots! I love pairing these boots with skirts and dresses because they easily can take a spring or summer outfit into the colder weather. Also, I have been loving layers lately. This fun Free People slip is so perfect to layer under another dress, shirt, or to wear on it's own. I hope you enjoy this easy outfit and it inspires you to experiment with layers as well!

Cozied Up

Hello again everyone! I hope you all had an amazing holiday! The Hubs and I have been spending quality time with our whole family and it has been so great, especially all the laughs we had with our adorable niece and nephews. It was such an awesome Christmas, it really seems that they get better and better every year. This past week we have also been to the movies a few times to see "American Hustle" and "The Hobbit". I wore this outfit to one and I have to say that this cozy sweater is the perfect piece for a chilly movie theater. It is almost like wearing a blanket! I hope you enjoy this casual look!

Beauty Thursday: Unblemish

Hello again my lovelies! I hope you are having an amazing week so far, I honestly cannot believe Christmas is so close! I'm almost done with all of my shopping, but it still just seems to be creeping up on me this year. We all know this time of year can come with a ton of stress, and with stress comes skin issues, in particular for me acne. If you are anything like me the slightest hint of stress reeks havoc on your face (which looks so awesome in all your family holiday photos I might add). Well, stress no more because I have a cure! I'm here today to talk about Rodan and Field's amazing anti-acne line called UNBLEMISH. Now, this is much different from Proactiv, even though they are the same creators, because it is geared toward adult and hormonal acne. This sophisticated regimen helps unclog pores, clear breakouts and calms your complexion to keep pimples, blackheads and post-acne marks from making an unwelcome appearance on your face and in your life. Also, it uses mostly surfer based ingredients, which is a more natural and gentle way to deal with your acne. It is again, like all of their regimen's, a multi-step process with a wash, toner, treatment, and SPF. I have been using it faithfully for three months now and I see such a difference in my skin! It is so much more clear then it was three months ago. Not only that, but my old acne marks and scars have faded dramatically! I think that is really what I am most happy with, because if you have any then you know they are impossible to get rid of. I had pretty much come to terms that I would have to deal with those scars for the rest of my life, but it turns out that is so not the case. I have had so much luck with this line!

The first step is the UNBLEMISH Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash. This creamy wash contains 3% sulfur to help unclog your pores and reduce facial redness. I use this only at night because it can be a bit harsh for me to use twice a day, but I will if I have an extreme breakout. I first remove my makeup and then use the wash on my Clarisonic Mia 2 to thoroughly remove dirt and oil and get that medicine deep within my skin. It does not have a potent smell, which is great because the smell of sulfur can be off putting. I truly love this wash and what it has been doing for my skin.

The second step is toner, and you have two options with this line, the UNBLEMISH  Spot Fading Toner and the UNBLEMISH Clarifying Toner. The Spot Fading Toner contains 2% hydroquinone to lighten and prevent post-acne marks and spots as well as salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells, keep pores clear, and prepareing skin for the treatment. The Clarifying Toner does not contain
hydroquinone, which is not reccomended for those pregnant or nursing. It is less harsh and geared toward sensitive skin. I personally use the spot fading toner and, although I have sensitive skin, I have had the best luck with this step. I think this toner makes a world of a difference for me and is my favorite step in this system.

The third (and final nighttime step) is the UNBLEMISH Duel Intense Acne Treatment. The unique dual chamber delivery system in this treatment ensures maximum efficacy of benzoyl peroxide deep into the pores, killing bacteria and stopping breakouts before they start. I kid you not, I can put this on a pimple at night and by the next morning, it has either significantly reduced in size or even disappeared! I can only, however, use this as a spot treatment because my skin is particularly sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, but I really do love this treatment. It is so fast and extremely effective at killing bacteria, reducing pimple size, and preventing new acne.

The fourth and final step is only to be used in the daytime and is the UNBLEMISH Oil Control Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 20. Formulated  specifically for acne-prone skin, this lightweight lotion controls oiliness as it protects against UV rays that intensify post-acne marks and uneven skin tone. I cannot speak from experience about this product because I have dryer skin, so I avoid oil-controlling products, but I do know for a fact it has worked well on some of my friends and colleges, keeping their oil at bay.  It also uses a mix of chemical and natural sunscreens, so it is water and sweat proof without clogging pores or causing irritation.

Modern Classic Holiday

Hello again! I am here to share with you today a classic outfit that is perfect for a casual office, lunch with the girls, or a less-fancy date night. Also, I love this outfit idea for a holiday party! The green says Christmas without being too in your face, and you are still plenty comfortable. I love the mix of kelly green with dark denim and cognac leather. The colors just work so well together and I like the way they look with my skin tone, eyes, and hair color. This shirt is so silky and easy to throw on with jeans or dress up with a fun skirt. These high waisted jeans are quickly becoming a favorite staple in my wardrobe. Once again, I cannot get over these beautiful shoes! Thanks so much mom for the lovely gift!!! I hope this outfit inspires you this holiday season!
